We need your support more than ever. Many frontline staff continue to work long hours and patients are becoming increasingly isolated due to the visiting restrictions in place. We are working with ROH to ensure the wellbeing of staff, patients and families are prioritised through this really tough time, and you can support too.
On average, full time healthcare professionals walk about 5 miles on every 12 hour shift they work. So in a month they could walk 2 full marathons without even realising.
You can get involved this December by joining in our ‘Going the extra mile’ virtual event. Walk, jog, cycle or run as many miles as you can and raise money whilst doing so.
How many miles can we all travel together this December?!
Sign up and choose a timeframe and goal that suits you. Remember it’s all about taking part! Whether it’s 5 or 100 miles it all helps. There is no age range, anyone can take part or get involved which makes it the perfect challenge! Select your size running top and we will get your start pack sent out to you ready for the 1st December 2020.
You can set up your JustGiving page when you register and adjust your target to whatever works for you. All funds will go towards supporting patients, families and staff members at The Royal Orthopaedic Hospital with the ‘added extras’ to make their time with us that little bit better. Your £10 registration covers the cost to the charity of managing this event and all of your fundraising will go directly to The Royal Orthopaedic Hospital Charitable Fund.
You can track your distance in whatever way works for you. This could be using an app such as Google Fit, Strava, a fitbit or even manually recording your distances. To help with your fundraising, you can activate a Strava link on your JustGiving Page.
When you sign up you’ll have your own dashboard where you can log your distances each week. Our team will then send out your finisher pack including a sparkling new medal so you can show it off.
You will automatically be assigned a JustGiving page to share online with your family, friends and colleagues. JustGiving sends all your donations straight to us. There’s no minimum fundraising, we simply ask that you raise as much as you can for us. Find some tips below of how you can raise the most and keep your friends and family engaged:
If you manage to reach £200 we’ll post you one of our Fabulous Fundraiser packs complete with running vests and water bottle.
